Welcome to the Digital Preservation Services Community

The Digital Preservation Services Community is the open and common playground which brings together solutions supporting long-term preservation of digitally encoded information. First contribution is provided by the CASPAR project, based on the OAIS reference model (ISO:14721:2003). You can find our community on Facebook too.

The CASPAR Project is a european research project on Digital Preservation co-funded by the European Commission from 2006 to 2009, within the Sixth Framework Programme.

The Digital Preservation Services Community is adopting the following approach:
Open specification, Open software and Open documentation.

The Digital Preservation Services Community web site represents the unified access point for:
  • software development: the software code is open and available on the Sourceforge subversion and may be browsed. More, software artifacts are available for free download;
  • accessing specification and documentation, defined by the developers. Sharing knowledge is a way to preserve it.
  • social network group on Facebook
